Ronin’s Recovery

This Go Fund Me is for my cat Ronin. I recently adopted Ronin, and heis approximately 8 months old.

On November 19th I woke up to find Ronin hiding under the couch and so heavily congested that he was unable to breathe through his nose. I rushed him to the vet where he got x-rays and diagnostics that determined the had a foreign body in his system that was blocking his ability to go to the bathroom. It was causing a severe upper respiratory infection along with decreased appetite.

The vet recommended he get an emergency surgery to remove the foreign body. He made it through the surgery and was sent home with multiple medications. Unfortunately, due to the level of congestion and pain he was in after surgery, he refused to eat for a number of days. I brought him back to the vet the following Monday the 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd where he stayed all day for monitoring. On the 23rd they found an infection that the two antibiotics he was on weren’t able to kill. They had to perform another surgery to clean out the infection. When I picked him up he was acting more like himself making biscuits and purring like crazy. But a few days after the surgery his infection started to come back and he had to go back into surgery a third time to have the infection cleaned and have a drain placed. He is now on 3 antibiotics to knock out whatever bacteria may be causing the infection.

Ronin is on his way to recovery but not there yet. He will still need a few follow up visits as well as having his drain removed. Through all 3 surgeries, staples and stitches, has remained sweet as can be and winning the hearts of all veterinary staff. He is quite the purr box.

Through all diagnostics, vet visits, and 3 surgeries it has been quite costly and we aren’t in the clear yet.

I am grateful for any and all support for Ronin’s recovery. He’s still a kitten not even a year and has a long healthy life ahead of him. I am at the end of my resources.
