For Chaplain Bonnie

I’d like to introduce to you, Chaplain Bonnie. Bonnie, has worked in hospice for over 20 years helping patients and families deal with the grief that many of us have experienced when our loved ones were in hospice. She has dedicated her life to being that someone, who is there to support us as we face, and hopefully come to terms with our feelings of helplessness and loss.

 

A few years ago, Bonnie successfully battled tongue cancer. Throughout her radiation treatments and since, she has continued to do hospice grief work.

This past year, Bonnie’s teeth have started falling out. 

Subsequently, it was determined that her jawbone had not been properly protected from the repeated radiation treatments. As a consequence, Bonnie will lose ALL of her teeth. 

We are seeking funds to cover the cost of giving her a full set of teeth using implants and dentures. The out-of-pocket cost for this medical procedure is $61,900.00.

 

For those who have known Bonnie, not much needs to be said about the kind of person she is. If she’s been part of your life you know you have received something special in some capacity or other - whether it’s her compassion, her humor, her strength or her comforting presence… she has touched so many lives in so many different ways.

 

Bonnie’s life has been a wonderful example of service… she gives in ways that leaves one feeling heard and held. She is subtle and passionate, fierce and gentle… a wonderful blend of much that is a gift to so many.
