Update: Crystal has been moved out of ICU and into her own room. She is trying so hard to talk and has been able to put a couple small sentences together. She has impressed her speech pathologist, of course. . She understands and comprehends. She is still not swallowing very well. She is unable to write, yet. She is giving thumbs up and down and pointing and reaching for people. She shook her head no and smiled. She is making small improvements each day and we would expect nothing less from her. She has never let anything get the best of her. If anyone can get through this, it’s Crystal. This is truly just the beginning of a very long road for her. Your support means more than you can even imagine and you are so appreciated. Thank you so much.
We all have that one person in our life. The one who fills the room with laughter and big, loud love. Who makes everything right when it’s wrong. Who is there 100% of the time. Who can be counted on. Trusted. Confided in. And is admired and loved by all.
Crystal is first and foremost an incredible and loving mother. She is the light in her three boys' lives. She is a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, a sister-in-law, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, and a friend to so many.
Those who know Crystal, know that she has always worked so hard. She has built a beautiful life that she is proud of. She has devoted years to her employment with complete dedication. Her hard work defines her. This is the very essence of who she is.
Everything in her world as she knew it, has come to a complete stop. A day that will forever change her life. On the morning of July 23rd, this beautiful woman had a stroke. When she did not show up for her day job, they reached out to her brother, who then found her in her home unresponsive. She was very quickly life flighted from McCall to Boise where she had to undergo emergency life-saving surgery. She made it through the surgery and is now in recovery in ICU fighting for her life. Her boys and her brother and his family have all put everything on hold to be with her - selflessly, privately, and quietly.
Crystal has a very long road ahead of her. Once she recovers, and she will, because she is the strongest person any of us know, she will have so much to contend with. She will not be going back to work anytime soon. Dr has high hopes that she will be walking in 3-6 months. Her speech has not yet returned and her brain has sustained some injury. In the meantime, she still has bills to pay so her life she worked so hard for doesn’t also suffer, as well as these medical expenses that are so quickly adding up. She needs our help. This community is one of the best and we can come together for her. She is beyond worth it. ❤️
Beautiful words from Taylor Garber
Our family is beyond blessed to have Crystal in our lives. She has done so much for us all and never asked for anything in return. She’s always been the one to go above and beyond for others and makes time to celebrate others successes, even in her non stop schedule. She lights up the world with her vibrant personality and her contagious laugh but most importantly she’s extremely selfless. She never asks for handouts but rather busts her butt to build a life she loves. She’s an incredible mother, friend, and all around individual and I hope our small community, friends and family can come together for her so she can focus on recovery and nothing more. Even the smallest donation means the world and if not monetarily, please share the gofundme, say a prayer and send all the positive thoughts to her and her family during this incredibly hard time. We love you so much Crystal
