Raise Money For A New Car

Hello! My name is Lydia and on October 1, 2023 I was in a car accident. I was driving on my way to a concert with a friend in the passenger seat on a two lane highway, one lane each direction separated with a double yellow line. Another driver ended up hitting me and my friend head on. The collision had a combined force of 140mph. Luckily, my passenger walked away with only a few scratches and bruises. I on the other hand was trapped in my car, crushed in for over an hour. Firefighters and paramedics worked really hard to get me out, helped me call my family, and got me safely to a hospital where I underwent surgery and stayed for 5 days. I only had a broken left femur thanks to the grace of God. Since then, I have worked my butt off in physical therapy, returned as a full time college student, worked on healing my trauma in mental therapy, and returned to the work force. Unfortunately I only had liability insurance and the other driver had no insurance. So my totaled car will not be replaced. Luckily I have health insurance so my medical bills are no worries;) Although I am a full time college student with a part time job and have lots of physical therapy appointments, my friends and family are so kind and help get me to where I need to be since I do not have a car. This is taxing on my loved ones, and being a full time student doesn’t leave much time to make money to save for a new car. I hesitated to even reach out to GoFundMe, but family has reminded me there are kind people in the world, and we can do so much more together than we ever could alone.
