Help for Art & Nicole Jacobson

The Spokane School District has been very fortunate to have Nicole and Art Jacobson as a part of their teacher family these past 25-plus years. Their giving and caring nature have positively impacted so many lives. With this in mind, we are reaching out to our fellow educators and school communities to help Nicole and Art during this difficult time in their lives.

The Jacobsons have had an unimaginable amount of tragedies throughout the past few years. They have experienced a house fire, survived breast cancer, suffered the loss of Nicole's sweet mom, worked tirelessly to support their special needs daughter, and suffered through many medical challenges. The latest medical challenge has been so life-altering that Art has been unable to continue his career as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher. Tragically, in late October, Art was terminally diagnosed with NAFLD Liver failure, resulting in kidney failure.

The amount of hardships this family has endured is overwhelming. We (a group of friends) would like to raise money for the Jacobsons so Nicole may focus on Art and his needs without the added worry of how she will make ends meet. Funds will help with financial burdens such as medical needs, bills due to loss of income and court costs required to retain custody of their adult special needs daughter. As time progresses, the financial support will give Nicole the opportunity of the gift of time with Art, should her family leave be exhausted.
