Baby Elijah, Our Sweet Angel

Hi everyone. My name is Marissa Simon and I am raising money for my cousins, Crystal and Israel Geron. They have been on an emotional roller coaster the last few months and I want to do something to help them out. 

Their journey began early last year. After many months of fertility treatments, Crystal found out that she was pregnant. They were both so excited for their first child. She developed complications during her pregnancy which caused her to spend several weeks in the hospital before her baby was born. At 26 weeks, Crystal gave birth to Elijah Israel Geron on September 4th, 2015 weighing in at 1.8 pounds. He underwent multiple surgeries to correct his underdeveloped intestines, repair holes in his heart, and attach his esophagus to his stomach. He was a miracle and a fighter. He pulled through and survived all of these surgeries. 

After the last of his many surgeries, he developed Pulmonary Hypertension which begins when tiny arteries in your lungs and capillaries become narrowed, blocked or destroyed. This makes it harder for blood to flow through your lungs, and raises pressure within your lungs' arteries. After he developed this, his journey came to an end. The strain on his lungs was too much for his little body to handle.

On January 2nd, 2016, Elijah became our angel in heaven. His short, but meaningful life, reminded us that God has a plan and that we need to trust in him. 

Elijah was in the hospital his entire life and the medical bills are enormous. We want to do whatever we can to help Crystal and Israel through this tough, emotional time. They were at the hospital almost every day for the 4 months of his life, so there wasn't much income to help pay the bills. Please find it in your heart to help this loving family through an extremely difficult time. Anything helps. God Bless.
