Baby Kasen's fight to go home!
Donation protected
Kasen Michael Berg was born the morning of October 1st, to first time parents Josh and Shana Berg. After a great pregnancy, and a pretty text book labor, the sweet sound every parent waits to hear, the cry of their perfect newborn, did not fill the delivery room. Kasen was quickly swooped away from his parents, and put on oxygen, as he was quite listless after birth. After a long day, and many tests and chest x-rays later, the NICU team was brought to Escanaba from Marquette, and little Kasen and his parents headed off to get him more help.
Today he is stable, and the doctors seem pleased with the many test results. It is known that he has pneumonia, but the cause is yet to be determined. He will be on at least 10 days of antibiotics, as well as other medications, while they continue to work at getting him stronger, and figure out if there is more to his story.
As new parents, Josh and Shana will obviously be by their little fighter's side. They will be incurring a lot of extra costs with travel, lodging, and medical expenses. Josh will be off of work for a time while this is going on, so we are hoping to ban together as family, friends, and community, to help this young couple get through without too much a financial hardship. Any donation is so appreciated, and we as a family will do our best to keep everyone informed on his progress.
Whether you can or can't donate, we are so grateful for the support, love, and most importantly prayers! God is so good, and we are confident that, despite a rough start, this sweet boy is being taken care of by Him. He is destined for greatness!!
The Lord is my Strength and my Shield, in Him my heart trusts.
