House Fire

My grandparents, L. T. and Karol Dent, lost their home in a devastating house fire in the early morning hours of September 10, 2023 in Breckinridge, TX. Thankfully, my grandfather was out of town and my grandmother was able to escape the fire without injury. However, after exiting the house, she fell as a result of an explosion within the house and fractured a vertebrae.

The entire house and its contents were a total loss. Unfortunately, my grandmother had recently paid off the home and allowed the insurance to lapse. Therefore, all of the expenses will fall on my grandparents. At ages 72 and 75, they are both retired and on a fixed/limited budgets, so these out of pocket expenses will be quite burdensome. Many friends, family, community members and others have expressed their their interest in an avenue to help alleviate this unfortunate situation. The funds donated to this account will be used to clean/clear the site from the fire and to cover living expenses to repair and rebuild a new living arrangement.
