I come here asking for help for my friend Elliott.

While Elliott was out walking his dog Odin in his neighborhood, a driver hit him and fled the scene. Elliott was left there to tend to his dog and call for help himself. Now after extensive rehabilitation, battling deteriorating spinal and nerve damage, Elliott’s condition continues to degrade. At the age of 32 he is disabled to point he cannot work again.

Elliott, a Correctional Peace Officer at Calgary Correctional Centre and Fitness trainer, whose love for fitness and physical activity was unmatched, can now no longer perform even basic tasks like walking, sitting or even sleeping without severe and crippling pain. With no chance of surgery due to the high probability of paralysis, this is his new reality.

It's devastating to imagine the physical and emotional toll on someone so young, suddenly facing a lifetime of pain and disability. Hit and runs are tragically too common and often leave the victim to face the financial burden of medical bills, rehabilitation, and living expenses that support systems don't truly cover.
