My dear friend Amanda is facing the end stages of terminal cancer. She has endured so much in her life, often without the support that most of us take for granted, yet she has always been someone who gives love and kindness freely to those around her.

As her illness progresses and her symptoms become more severe, my biggest hope is that she can spend her remaining time with peace of mind—knowing that her final wishes will be respected and that there will be no burden left on the people who love her.

Amanda has requested a simple cremation with no funeral service. Instead, she would like a small celebration of her life, surrounded by those she loves. Unfortunately, she does not have the means to cover these expenses, and I cannot carry the costs alone.

The average cost for even the most modest arrangements is several thousand dollars. My goal is to raise $3,000 to cover cremation and basic final expenses, as well as to help with the care of her beloved dog, Sky, who has been her loyal companion through everything. Ensuring Sky is safe and cared for is one of Amanda’s biggest wishes.

This fundraiser is being organized quietly, and Amanda does not know I am doing this—because I know she would only feel guilty for needing help. But I want to make sure that when the time comes, everything, including Sky’s care, is taken care of for her.
