I am trying to raise a bit of money to help towards the costs of top surgery.

The cost of the surgery alone starts at £6000, with the cost of travel and accommodation possibly costing up £1000 more.

As a student, it’s difficult to save money, especially with the cost of everything increasing so much - working and saving money alone is not bringing me any closer to my goal.

With top surgery, my quality of life will drastically increase. I will be free of chest pain, able to participate in sports again, and relieved of my biggest insecurity.

I truly believe top surgery to be an essential procedure for me, as it is for many other trans people. The rate of regret for gender-affirming surgeries is less than 1%, a tiny amount compared to other plastic procedures, which can have regret rates of up to 47.1% (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0002961024002381)
