Heber Cunha (01/05/1979-04/06/2023)
Heber grew up in Brazil in a traditional Presbyterian home. According to friends and family, he had a happy childhood and youth. He came to the USA in his early 20s to follow the immigrant dream of a better life for himself and his family. In the USA, Heber married Beatriz in 2004 and had his seven-year-old David and 4-year-old Ana Elisa. His was a happy family. His wife admired and cared for him, and Heber did the same for her and their kids. After buying a beautiful home in East Bridgewater, Heber worked hard on many renovation projects to provide his family the best life possible. He was loved not only by his wife but for his children; he was a hero. The man of the house who would work hard and still have time to play and spend quality time with them. As stated by David, Heber was their best friend.

In the USA, Heber worked in multiple capacities and was cherished by many coworkers and friends everywhere he went. Eventually, he became proficient in construction work, particularly masonry. He has enchanted many customers with his professionalism and passion for making everything look perfect. To this, his beloved church family can testify, for Heber donated much of his time in voluntary work for the church, renovating rooms and bathrooms and doing many other things. As witnessed by his beloved church family at Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Heber’s joy and readiness to serve was contagious and admirable. Heber was an active Christ the King Presbyterian member, with his sister Elenilda and her husband Sebastião for over 20 years. They sat together on the same bench over the years and had many happy moments in the church.

His love and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ are attested by his pastor Helio Christo Carneiro and his beloved church family. Heber’s legacy in the church may be summed up in a single statement: He served Jesus Christ with joy.

Heber is greatly loved and will be deeply missed. However, as is of all family members and friends, his conviction was that he is “absent from the body, present with the Lord” (2Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23). Heber left a mark profoundly engraved in our hearts, and he will always be remembered. His life is a message of faithfulness to God, love for family, and commitment to his faith.

The Cunha Family invites friends and loved ones to his funeral in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland, on Thursday, April thirteenth, at 9:00am. A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial Services will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery at 12:00
