In the early hours of Sunday 10th Sep 2023, eastern Libya was subjected to severe weather fluctuations as a result of the impact of Hurricane Daniel.

These weather fluctuations have led to negative impacts on infrastructure and property, causing significant damage and loss of Lives . The affected areas experienced sudden flood washing homes to the sea.

The scale and level of destruction is hard to comprehend. Local reports suggest that 25% of the city has been destroyed or severely damaged. Death toll now exceeds 3,500.
