This last Saturday, February 15, the Huntington family experienced a heartache that is completely changing the dynamic of the family’s focus. Michelle and Randy Huntington’s 20 year old son, Jacob, was hiking up on the ridge in Pirate’s Cove, Avila Beach, when he slipped and fell approximately 20 feet into the ocean hitting the rocks below. He was only in the water for about 30 seconds, as bystanders pulled him out and called authorities. The fall and those 30 seconds in the water, however, has proven to be frightful with the injuries that Jacob has sustained.
Thankfully, Jacob is alive.
Jacob is in intensive care with a severe head injury and has a stint in his head to control the swelling on his brain. He fractured his lumbar, and the doctors had to place bags in his lungs due to the severity of injury from the salt water.
I have known Michelle and Randy for 38 years. The three of us were inseparable in high school and stay very close today. I have known both of their kids, Megan and Jacob, since they were born. Those of you who know the Huntington family, know that they are hard working, kind, funny, fun, ethical, moral, genuine people. Those of you who know them, know just how much their kids mean to them, me, and the rest of their family.
I am asking you to please help with the astronautical medical bills that are being accumulated now along with the long road of recovery to come. If it can’t be done monetarily, please send forth your prayers for a complete recovery.
Thank you.
