Help Xisto Recover from Strokes and Prepare for Heart Surgery
In just a few hours, the life of a father of three changed completely.
On March 12, our dear friend Xisto Orlandino Junior, 34 years old, suffered a sudden medical emergency that completely changed the life of his family.
Xisto was rushed to the hospital after suddenly feeling unwell. After the first examinations, doctors confirmed that he had suffered two strokes, and two blood clots were identified in his brain, causing swelling and requiring intensive medical care. During his hospitalization, he also developed early pneumonia, which made his condition even more delicate.
During the examinations to understand the cause of the strokes, doctors also discovered that Xisto has small openings in his heart, a condition that will need to be corrected through heart surgery. However, at this moment, his current condition does not yet allow him to undergo surgery.
Right now, the medical team’s focus is to stabilize his condition and begin a long process of recovery and rehabilitation, so that in the future he may be strong enough to undergo the necessary surgery.
At this time, Xisto still has no estimated date for hospital discharge. His blood pressure continues to fluctuate, but thankfully he has been gradually improving within the possibilities of his medical condition.
About the family
Xisto is the husband of Danila Ribeiro Orlandino and the father of three children:
• Sarah (12 years old)
• Sophia (10 years old)
• Junior (7 years old)
He is a devoted father, a loving husband, and a man deeply committed to his faith. Xisto attends Assembleia de Deus Vida Church, led by Pastor Geraldo, where he is very loved by the community.
During this very difficult time, Danila remains by his side in the hospital, closely following every step of his treatment and offering all the support he needs.
Financial impact on the family
Before this unexpected situation happened, Xisto was the primary financial provider for the family.
With his hospitalization and the long recovery process still ahead, he will be unable to work for an extended period of time.
Danila will eventually need to reorganize herself to return to work, but at this moment her priority has been staying by her husband’s side at the hospital, caring for their children, and navigating this new reality.
In the coming months, she will also need to adapt to the care and support required for Xisto’s recovery, which makes returning to work immediately very difficult.
Recovery needs
When Xisto becomes stable enough to leave the hospital, doctors have already informed the family that he will not be able to return to a home with stairs.
Because of this, the family will need to move to a more accessible home, suitable for his new health and recovery needs.
If this move cannot happen immediately, it may be necessary for Xisto to temporarily stay in a rehabilitation facility until it is safe for him to return home.
Campaign update
This campaign was originally created by friends with a goal of $10,000, as a way to offer immediate support to the family in the first days after this unexpected situation.
However, as we began to better understand the extent of the medical situation and the long recovery process ahead, it became clear that the financial needs would be significantly greater.
The current estimate is that, over the next six months, the costs related to Xisto’s recovery may reach approximately $90,000.
These costs include:
• additional medical expenses not covered
• rehabilitation and specialized therapies
• transportation for medical appointments and treatments
• basic living expenses for the family while he is unable to work
• moving to an accessible home without stairs
• possible stay in a rehabilitation center
How you can help
This situation happened completely unexpectedly, and the family is now facing a period of uncertainty while focusing on Xisto’s recovery.
Any contribution, regardless of the amount, will make a great difference in helping the family go through this difficult time.
If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign is also a very important way to help.
We deeply appreciate every prayer, message of support, and act of generosity.
May God bless the life of everyone who is extending a hand during this time.
