On March 4th tragedy struck our family, we discovered our beloved grandfather was struck with covid-19 and unconscious in his apartment. He lived alone in New York City and had spent several days keeping it a secret, trying to tough it out as to not risk infecting us or having us worry. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where the wonderful staff did all they could for him during his stay, and our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the doctors and nurses which looked after him day and night as well as the social workers that helped us along the way.
At age 72 he was young at heart, active, and living like he was 40. Little did anyone, including himself know that he had a lung tumor developing and by extension made his chances of surviving covid-19 even more grim. After a week in the ICU on March 11th he suddenly took a turn for the worse and had to be intubated after developing pneumonia in both lungs. Doctors informed us he will most likely not make it and would pass away by March 19th. He gave it his best, fighting a long and hard fought battle until finally passing away the night of March 22nd.
He came to America in 1997 with his beloved daughter to pursue a better future. Four years after that he would become a grandfather and for 20 years would non-stop spend as much free time as he had with his 2 grandchildren. He leaves behind his daughter, son in law, and two grandchildren with great memories that we will forever cherish. We will forever miss him.
The proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards taking care of his medical bills and funeral costs. To everyone that reads, shares, or donates we thank you.
