Have you ever thought about how your education shaped your opportunities?
At XHUMA, we believe education is not just a privilege, but rather the foundation for empowerment and change. As one of the longest-standing social initiatives of the Master in Strategy and International Management (SIM) at the University of St.Gallen (HSG), we are dedicated to expanding opportunities for students in South Africa. The core of the initiative has been teaching financial literacy and last year we successfully broadened our mission to include career opportunities by teaching soft and hard skills in preparation for university and further careers.
This year we seek to continue expanding the scope of XHUMA to guide students in shaping their personal development and career aspirations by introducing them to several academic and professional opportunities. We aim to achieve these goals by making information readily accessible, hosting orientation workshops, and establishing a mentorship program.
High school education in South Africa is a key step in shaping the student's future, whether they decide to go to university or pursue careers that differ from their parents', outside of the agricultural field.
How can you help us?
In order to achieve our goals, we are looking for sponsors who would like to contribute financially to our social project.
Specifically, we will use the money for teaching materials for hundreds of students on site, a get-together with the students' parents, and to enable part of our team to teach in person. This will provide local students with our knowledge and materials so that they can share the insights with their community and extend the impact beyond our time in Cape Town.
