Hi everyone, my name is Ana Yancy I am 26 years old and I created this for myself. Back in March I began to have constant cramps that I thought were normal but I asked my doctor if we could check to make sure everything was okay. I was sent to get ultrasounds and then eventually she sent me to get an MRI to make sure it was what she believed is a Dermoid on my left ovary. Mind you this was right as everything was shutting down because of COVID. A dermoid teratoma or cyst is a group of different kinds of cells that get trapped and continue to grow. My dermoid is around 4cm. It is also congenital so they are there from the time you are born. This past month my cramps and my back pain were a lot worse than before so I made an appointment with my OBGYN to talk about surgery. I also had a trip to the ER because ibuprofen was not doing much. My surgery is scheduled for October 29 but my insurance will only cover part of it. They gave me 2 days notice on the amount and it would be so helpful to just worry about healing and recovering after surgery. In addition to the hospital bill I have to take at least 2 weeks off work to heal and recover after surgery if everything goes well and they don't have to resort to a more invasive procedure. We are hoping to just have the dermoid removed and allowing me to keep my ovary. I would appreciate the help so much and take some weight off my shoulders for these next couple of weeks.
