Kyleigh Cummings has ONCE AGAIN been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. UNFORTUNATELY at 28-years-old this is her third battle with this cancer. She has beat this twice before and was cancer free for five years. Anyone who has met Kyleigh knows that she has a passion for life and her gift of strength.
Kyleigh’s misfortune all started in late September when she wasn’t feeling well and went to Urgent Care where they told her that it was her allergies. After not getting better, she went to her primary physician and had a chest x-ray done. Kyleigh was told that she had pneumonia and pleural effusion so was given an antibiotic. After no response to the prescribed antibiotic, they switched her to another. When she did not respond to the second antibiotic, they did another chest x-ray. Kyleigh’s pleural effusion had gotten much worse so she was sent for a CT scan. The CT Scan showed a large mass in the center of Kyleigh’s chest, and with so much fluid build-up her left lung was completely collapsed. Kyleigh was then sent to a Thoracic Oncologist at Memorial Sloane Kettering. The doctor immediately admitted her to Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City where they had to insert a drain tube in her chest to remove the fluid. After 11 days in the hospital with numerous tests, biopsies, scans and work-ups, it was discovered that Kyleigh once again has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Kyleigh is a fighter! Her response to this unfortunate news was, “Third time’s a charm”! Her attitude absolutely amazes us while our hearts break for her. Please join us and be inspired by her optimism and determination as we support her through her treatments.
Kyleigh has two jobs and with her fight ahead of her, she will be struggling to work them. We are hoping to be able to help alleviate some of her financial stress of living and medical expenses during this time as she concentrates on her health. We want to thank everyone in advance for any donation given…. every little bit helps! If you’re not able to help monetarily, we ask that you help through keepingKyleigh in your daily prayers.
