Our 13 year old son Kevin was recently diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, more specifically Ulcerative Colitis. UC is a chronic disease that causes inflammation in the large intestine and colon. There's no cure, only treatment. However, our son falls in the severe category and he's been in and out of the hospital for a while now. The doctors are trying different treatments, trying to get it under control, but have been unsuccessful. Our son has no energy due to all the blood he's losing and needs blood transfusions daily. I (Kev's mom) have been staying in the hospital with him and his dad comes every chance he gets! He brings everything we need from home for us. Food here is expensive, therefore he tries to bring us "groceries" we can microwave here. The hospital is not close to our home or dad's work, he has to commute everyday. Gas prices are high and parking here is also expensive. Medical bills are already showing up in the mail. The doctors have mentioned a 2 part surgery, lasting 3-8 months, depending on how he takes it and recovers. Right now we don't know how much longer he'll be in the hospital. We just need some help right now with all the medical expenses, and every little bit counts and all donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you and God bless!
