Help My Sister Lay Her Husband to Rest

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

With a heavy heart, I am reaching out on behalf of my beloved sister, Corine Cunningham, whose world was shattered when her husband, Mr. Walter Arington Cunningham, of over 30 years, tragically passed away on June 24, 2025.

He was a good man, a loving husband, stand-in father, and a quiet strength in their family. He had been in a long-term care facility recovering from serious injuries, but due to tragic neglect, his condition worsened, and he had to undergo hip fracture surgery. My sister was preparing to bring him home, full of hope and prayer, never imagining that she would instead be planning his funeral.

Sadly, he never recovered from the injuries and the neglect he suffered. His passing was not only sudden but devastating for all of us — especially Corine. To make matters even more difficult, he did not have life insurance, and now she is left with the overwhelming emotional grief and the crushing financial burden of trying to give her husband the dignified farewell he deserves.

The funeral services and burial have been tentatively scheduled, and we must raise a reasonable amount of funds by July 18, 2025, to ensure that he is properly laid to rest.

I, along with a few family members and friends, am doing all we can to help her — but it’s simply not enough. That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe — to ask for your help.
