It was recently discovered that my 6 year old niece, Sofia Rocca, has a brain tumor. This diagnosis came after many weeks of unexplained symptoms. It was finally on September 20th that Sofia’s parents, Ray and Andrea Rocca, heard the devastating news - news that would change their lives forever…
For several weeks Sofia showed several symptoms, including vomiting, neck and shoulder pain, headaches and fatigue. On September 20th, Sofia showed another symptom, double vision. With greater concern, Ray and Andrea took Sofia to the ER where Sofia was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Sofia was quickly transferred to a hospital in Los Angels for treatment in the pediatric intensive care unit. Today, September 23, Sofia underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Although the surgery was successful, Sofia will have many years of treatment ahead of her to ensure the tumor doesn’t grow back. Ray and Andrea have a long road ahead of them to get the treatment Sofia needs so that she may live a life as beautiful as her.
Money raised will help Ray and Andrea cover the expenses that come along with such a life- changing event.
