Audrey's Journey

Audrey Jo was born a perfectly healthy 9lb baby on June 27, 2024. On August 27th she went in for her regular check up and received a clean bill of health and schedule vaccines. On August 30th she was congested, lethargic and running a low grade fever. A trip to her pediatrician determined she had a virus that would have to run its coarse. At 5am August 31st her parents rushed her to the hospital when her owlet sock alarm went off because her oxygen dropped below 80% (it’s supposed to go off at 90%).

She was immediately intubated then airlifted to Comer’s Children’s Hospital where she has been for the last 17 weeks. She spent 13 scary weeks heavily sedated on ECMO and endured countless procedures. Chandler and Kennedy have been living at the Ronald McDonald House. Kennedy spends every day by Audrey's side and Chandler commutes to Bourbonnais to work then spends his evenings with Audrey. Audrey has improved tremendously and we are prayerfully hopeful that she will be home in the next couple of months.

Now that the fog of fear and uncertainty has begun to lift, the reality of unpaid bills and a new deductible year beginning in a few days is becoming apparent. Audrey will need aftercare and therapy for the foreseeable future and I am hoping that this will ease their financial burden so they can focus on Audrey.
