For many years, Karen Hawkins bravely and extraordinarily battled cancer. Fueled by her love for the Lord, her family, and her friends, she fought this battle with tenacity. Through successes and setbacks, progress and complications, joy and pain, she displayed an admirable lust for life and its many adventures.

On June 9, 2021, the Lord called Karen home to rest in His embrace.

Throughout Karen’s journey with cancer and the complications that resulted, she was enveloped with love from her family and friends. She was courageously supported by her husband, Lee, and their teenage sons, Tyler and Ryan. The role of a caregiver is tremendously difficult, demanding, and tiring, but Lee and his sons tackled it gracefully on a daily basis.

While caring for Karen, Lee continued to support his Capital Group family at work, rarely missing a beat. Now, in his time of need, I ask that we support Lee and his family. The expenses they will experience during this time will be great, but our generosity will be greater. The grief they will experience during this time will be immense, but may our love and kindness support and lift them up during this season.
