Hi, my name is Crystal, and I am fundraising for my father, Mike McPherson, who has been diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer after beating Lymphoma in 2002.

 

On June 28th, our family got the heartbreaking news that my father had cancer again! We quickly learned his previous Oncologist doesn't treat this type of cancer, so he was referred to a Surgeon at Cooper Medical Hospital in Camden. The first step is to shrink the tumor.

 

My Dad does not have insurance to cover his entire treatment plan. As of July 6, we know he has to do 5-6 weeks of radiation five days a week, Chemo treatments 1x a week, followed by surgery. There are many unknown variables, but he does need to start radiation ASAP.

 

I am coordinating my schedule to fly to NJ to meet his surgeon in person and schedule his necessary appointments. My mother will be helping out taking care of my twins when I go. This money would help my Dad pay for out-of-pocket treatment expenses and medical and medications. Radiation alone can be upwards of $25k, which he needs to begin immediately as his life now depends on it. This Gofundme is contributing to his medical treatment plan.

 

The last thing my Dad would want me to do is to raise money on his behalf! He is the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back and not ask for anything in return! I feel like its my turn to let me and others help him in his time of need. All funds go directly to a separate account for his medical treatment plan, and we will continue to update you as we go through this journey.

 

This devastating news has turned our lives upside down. My Dad is a great father, PopPop, friend, brother, Uncle and is loved by many. Please keep him in your prayers. Mine is that he will have the strength to fight this again, and through your generosity, he can get started with radiation.
