Healing Harper ♥️
Donation protected
Our niece Harper was admitted to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh on 10/14/23 after weeks of being sick with what doctors think is a virus and multiple trips to the pediatrician, urgent care and WVU. She is a very sick little girl but we know she is a fighter. Please consider donating to help her parents, Alison and Chad with expenses while she is hospitalized. If you’re unable to donate, please pray and share!
Latest update 10/15/23 from Lauree:
Harper update: Another turn for the worse. Harper’s heart is functioning very poorly and her kidneys appear to have damage as well. They feel there is a virus responsible for all of this. They are right now placing a central line to be able to give meds through. They have started her on epinephrine. This is all happening so suddenly and we are pretty much numb. We need a move of God for our Harper!!!
update# 2
Morning update: the team of doctors was just in to see Harper. Right now she is stable. There are many test results that are still pending, probably results in the next couple days. Transplant doctor saw her as well and said she is not at the point of needing a transplant now, but they like to see the patients and be familiar with them in case. Harper is tired of being in bed and just generally achy but is handling everything pretty well. So for now we await results, and keep praying that her reports show positive signs.
From Lauree- Harper’s “Nonna” (grandmother)
Where do I begin…..For 2 weeks, Harper has been sick with what we were told was a virus. After multiple visits to urgent care, pediatrician and WVU ER, today we finally got some answers. Harper’s liver is “very sick” to use the words of the ER doctor at Ruby. The decision was made to transport her to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh pediatric ICU tonight. Her liver enzyme went from 259 to 2000 in 4 days. Her INR should be 1 and it is 4.5 which is the equivalent of someone taking way too much blood thinner. The liver specialist here at CHoP was in to see her, as well as many other doctors, and the plan now is to keep a close eye on her labs to see how they are trending. They will be doing some further testing as well. We may never know what caused this. The doctor is still leaning toward a viral process at this time. So best case scenario, it runs its course and her liver improves without any damage. They wanted her here in case things get worse and we would need to talk about a transplant. Everyone here has been amazing so far. I feel like Harper is exactly where she needs to be. I know there are hundreds of people praying for her and I ask that you please continue. Pray for Harper, pray for Alison and Chad, and pray for wisdom for her medical team. We need a miracle. If there is one thing I know for sure, God is able. He has proven that to me many times.
