Bring Eric Home

Donation protected
Every day millions of people wake up and struggle to make it through a solid 24 hour period. Eric is no different. For those that know Eric, I don't have to say much. For the ones reading this who don't know him - let me help you out a little.

Eric Evers is a fighter. He served in the US Military, he has two beautiful sons, has lived in multiple states (currently Nebraska - insane I know) and is loved by several friends and family members. Michael Melton, one of his closest friends has known him for 27 years, and has taken him in as family and watched over him like an older brother would.

Today is no different. For several years Eric has been sick and like most people, kept hoping it would "go away". Unfortunately it didn't. Recently he was submitted into the hospital as a result of a minor heart attack. Shortly after he had several small strokes and began coughing up blood. He went back to the hospital and they were concerned he could have stomach cancer. Like any
brother, Michael jumped into action. He began trying to figure out how to bring his brother home.

Because of the fighting and the struggles that Eric has faced day in and day out, with this new potential diagnosis he began to sink into a dark hole, his health was failing. Mike knew he needed to get his brother home. Back to Oregon where he can flourish and have the support team that his temporary doctors suggested he have. He knew that his brother's life depended on it. Eric was diagnosed with stomach cysts that have been causing internal bleeding and the reason he has been coughing up blood.

Because of Eric's sever depression and nobody to check in on him daily, he talked to Mike about the different options in coming home. It is imperative that we be able to do this as soon as possible, to get him in treatment, also, as soon as possible. It will cost roughly $2,500 for moving expenses, transportation and helping Eric get settled here with a proper medical team to begin radiation to shrink the cysts in the hope that they can preserve his stomach without further damage. Eric has also been in contact with an neurologist regarding his strokes, and different preventative measures to put into place so he can prevent continued time lapses and passing out.

Eric is a fighter. We are hoping to raise enough money to show our brother that he isn't alone in this fight, and people still care. Mike, Lexie and his family are reaching out and asking for your help in bringing Eric home so we can help him with his fight. Anything little bit helps, and from the bottom of our heart, we thank you and appreciate your generosity and kindness!
