It always happens to other people, but this time it happened to me. My house was set ablaze by spontaneous combustion caused by stain-soaked rags left in a bag on my porch. Of all things, science reminded me of its power. I can't begin to describe the feeling of waking up and your home is on fire. Sitting across the street from your burning house is indescribable. But I was fortunate to escape with my life and a busted knee that will require surgery.

But I can hug my kids and talk to my family and friends, so all is not truly lost. Some things can't be replaced, but again, I have life. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can find in your heart to give and help me recover what was lost in the fire.
