Dear Family and Friends,
Over the past few years, my father Steve Cole has been battling severe addiction.
As you can imagine, this has taken a tremendous toll on Steve and those around him.
Two weeks ago, he had given up on life. Steve was found on the floor of his home after not eating or showering for 3 days.
With a few valiant efforts from friends and family, we were recommended a Recovery center in Santa Monica, California.
We were able to get Steve into their facility that only accepts 6 patients at a time, and they even covered the cost of his plane ticket.
We were assured that his insurance was covering the costs and we were all set...
Well, that sounded too good to be true. And insurance wise, it was.
After Steve had been at the facility for a week, we were notified that his insurance would no longer be covering the cost of his rehabilitation.
This leaves us at a crossroad. We either pay for his rehabilitation cost out of pocket, or we will have to send him back home.
In the first 8 days Steve has been in Santa Monica, he has made tremendous progress. He has nearly finished his full detox, and is showing less symptoms of withdrawal every day. Most importantly, Steve likes it there and wants to be there for the recovery process.
He feels confident in his ability to recover if he is able to stay in this rehab facility.
While no one likes to get on here and ask for help, I wouldn't be here if we didn't need it.
For me, this is my chance to get my father back, who has been a hole in my life the last four years due to his addiction.
My family and I are doing everything we can to keep Steve in California. We as a family feel this is by far the best option for him.
Our goal is to pay for his first 30 days in detox and recovery which totals $10,000. After detox, he is advised to stay for 60 days of therapy, totaling $30,000.
These funds will go towards Steve's Rehabilitation and medical expenses after rehab.
This will help Steve finish his multi-step rehabilitation and get his life back on track, to a life worth living again.
