In 2021, Filipinos, experienced what they called the dead Christmas. Typhoon Odette left people without electricity or clean water for months. People experienced Christmas in the dark—without food, clean water, homes or worse, missing loved ones.
Just as they we have slowly recovered, Typhoon Tino leaves us in the same situation we never thought we would be in again. As of today, 7th of November, there are nearly 200 people dead, nearly as many people still missing. Several towns are still covered in debris, mud and has started to smell of bodies yet to be recovered. Houses destroyed, cars piled up like toys by flood, people stranded on roofs, sources of living gone, and lives destroyed. People will be spending yet another round of the holidays with nothing but devastation all around.
While we Filipinos pride ourselves of being resilient, rebuilding lives requires resources that most people do not have—especially at this time.
Even we have experience loss ourselves, we are lucky to be in a position to be able to help others—even with the basic necessities of food, drinking water, clothes and potentially materials to rebuild.
This is a medium for our friends to extend what they’d like to share to the victims of the typhoon.
Our family will be holding a donation drive starting tomorrow. Every dollar donated will go towards the victims of Typhoon Tino. Please donate what you can. A little goes a long way.
