Hello,

My name is Adriana Velasquez, and I'm here to ask for help.

On November 14, 2021, I had an accident to my wrist/ hand at work but continued working to complete my duties. I was on paid leave to let my wrist/hand heal, but sadly, that didn't help much as my hand got worse and worse. I was then sent to see a doctor who treated and performed a minor surgery on my wrist/hand. After the surgery, I spent weeks waiting for my hand to heal properly so I may return to work. Unfortunately, after the second post-operation appointment with my doctor, he discovered I had a tumor in my wrist, and he was not able to do anything further on it , so he sent me to a specialist. As soon as the specialist saw my wrist, he said the first operation the first doctor had performed on me was pointless. I then started the process of treating the tumor with the specialist.

Apart from this entire situation, I only really want to return to work as I have a handicapped son in Honduras that I need to take care of.

My son has several tumors on his back and constantly deals with fevers as a consequence of the pain that goes through his body. Because we do not have any family members that will take care of him, I am responsible for paying for his special transportation to be taken to and from the hospital along with, also paying for his treatments, medicine, and someone to take care of him. He can only rely on me for financial support, as he is unable to work and does not have anyone else to rely on. As his mother, I am responsible for doing anything and everything to make sure my son is okay and taken care of. However, with the incidents going on in my life, I have been struggling to keep up with all of his hospital bills and living expenses along with my responsibilities.

I ask with great humbleness in my heart for help in supporting my son, who is in great need. Thank you for hearing my story.

Mi nombre es Adriana Velásquez y estoy aquí para pedir ayuda.

El 14 de noviembre de 2021, tuve un accidente en la muñeca/mano en el trabajo, pero seguí trabajando para cumplir con mis funciones. Estaba de licencia pagada para dejar que mi muñeca/mano sanara, pero lamentablemente, eso no ayudó mucho ya que mi mano empeoraba cada vez más. Luego me enviaron a ver a un médico que trató y realizó una cirugía en mi muñeca/mano. Después de la cirugía, pasé semanas esperando que mi mano sanara adecuadamente para poder volver a trabajar. Desafortunadamente, después de la segunda cita postoperatoria con mi médico, descubrió que tenía un tumor en la muñeca y no pudo hacer nada más al respecto, por lo que me envió a un especialista. Tan pronto como el especialista vio mi muñeca, dijo que la primera operación que me había hecho el primer médico no tenía sentido. Entonces comencé el proceso de tratamiento del tumor con el especialista.

Aparte de toda esta situación, solo quiero volver a trabajar ya que tengo un hijo discapacitado en Honduras al que debo cuidar.

Mi hijo tiene varios tumores en la espalda y constantemente lidia con fiebres como consecuencia del dolor que le recorre su cuerpo. Debido a que no tenemos ningún miembro de la familia que lo cuide, soy responsable de pagar su transporte especial para que lo lleven hacia y desde el hospital, también pago sus tratamientos, medicamentos y alguien que lo cuide. Solo puede confiar en mí para el apoyo financiero, ya que no puede trabajar y no tiene a nadie más en quien confiar. Como su madre, soy responsable de hacer cualquier cosa para asegurarme de que mi hijo esté bien y cuidado. Sin embargo, con los incidentes que ocurren en mi vida, he estado luchando para mantenerme al día con todas sus facturas del hospital y gastos de manutención junto con mis responsabilidades.

Pido con gran humildad en mi corazón ayuda para mantener a mi hijo, que está en gran necesidad. Gracias por escuchar mi historia.
