My name is Pamela and Cristina is my cousin, she’s like a sister to me. I am doing this campaign so they can get more help in reaching their goal. Unfortunately they won't allow Lucas to start treatment unless they pay the whole amount upfront, and they need all the help they can get. I will be wiring this money directly to their account in Perú. Please read the whole story below.
In November 2018 Cristina and Diego received the news that no parent wanted to hear, Lucas, 3, was diagnosed with kidney cancer. After several exams, an initial chemotherapy treatment and an operation to remove one of his kidneys and part of the tumor, doctors specifically diagnosed him with a High Risk Neuroblastoma. Immediately, Lucas and his family began the necessary treatment to embark on the path to healing.
It has been several months of chemotherapy, hospitalizations and advances in eliminating the parts of the tumor that could not be removed, very difficult months, but that Lucas has overcome and lived with great courage, but above all accompanied by the people who love him most, his Two little brothers and their wonderful parents. Cristina and Diego are for all of us who know and love them, an example of a lot of strength and a proof that the love and union of the family are the most important and valuable to face in the best way, the challenges presented by the lifetime.
Lucas has already advanced much of his way, little by little we have seen him recover his energies, desire to play and strength, which at some point the disease hid. He still has to carry out his radiotherapy and finish with an Immunotherapy treatment, this last treatment is very important for Lucas because it not only increases the probability of total healing considerably, but also minimizes the probability of recurrence. Chemotherapy, surgery and procedures have been able to cover them to a large extent with their EPS insurance, but Immunotherapy treatment does not exist in Peru. Cristina and Diego, with the constant support of their oncologist, Dr. Juan García, have decided that the best option is to take Lucas to Barcelona to receive this last important treatment. The treatment is expensive (US $ 200,000 approx) and Luquitas needs all the support and help possible for his family in this last step.

En noviembre del 2018 Cristina y Diego recibieron la noticia que ningún padre quisiera escuchar, Lucas de 3 años fue diagnosticado con cáncer al riñón. Luego de varios exámenes, un tratamiento inicial de quimoterapia y una operación para extraer uno de sus riñones y parte del tumor, los doctores le diagnosticaron específicamente con un Neuroblastoma de Alto Riesgo. De inmediato, Lucas y su familia iniciaron el tratamiento necesario para emprender el camino hacia su sanación.
Han sido varios meses de quimioterapia, hospitalizaciones y avances en eliminar las partes del tumor que no pudieron ser extraídas, meses muy difíciles, pero que Lucas ha superado y vivido con mucha valentía, pero sobre todo acompañado de las personas que más lo quieren, sus dos hermanitos y sus maravillosos papás. Cristina y Diego son para todos los que los conocemos y queremos, un ejemplo de muchísima fortaleza y una prueba de que el amor y la unión de la familia son lo más importante y valioso para enfrentar de la mejor manera, los retos que nos presenta la vida.
Lucas ya ha avanzando gran parte de su camino, poco a poco lo hemos visto recuperar sus energías, ganas de jugar y fuerzas, que en algún momento la enfermedad ocultó. Aún le queda realizar su radioterapia y terminar con un tratamiento de Inmunoterapia, este último tratamiento es muy importante para Lucas porque no sólo incrementa considerablemente la probabilidad de sanación total, sino que además minimiza la probabilidad de recurrencia. La quimioterapia, cirugía y procedimientos las han podido cubrir en gran medida con su seguro EPS, pero el tratamiento de Inmunoterapia no existe en el Perú. Cristina y Diego, con el apoyo constante de su oncólogo, el Dr. Juan García, han decidido que la mejor opción es llevar a Lucas a Barcelona a recibir este último tratamiento tan importante. El tratamiento es caro (US$ 200 mil aprox) y Luquitas necesita todo el apoyo y ayuda posible para su familia en este último paso.
