Help for Medical Bills and Treatment

My name is David Brower , my wife's name is Darlene Brower we have been married for 31 years. Last October she came down with Covid 19 and recovered then in April of 2021 she got the J & J vaccine and started having all sorts of problems , like leg pain and tingling to start with . Within three weeks she ended up in the ER with AFIB and was in ICU for a week during her time in the hospital she developed Neuropathy which just kept spreading . She has been in and out of the Hospital 7 times since then for her heart and other problems. They found a mass on her thyroid and thought is was cancer and she had to have a biopsy and a mass on her kidneys while she was in the hospital . Then they found that she has a umbilical hernia and fatty liver. After an MRI of her brain and back they found she has bulging disks in her back and arthritis.  They have also now found a mass in her shoulder and she has to do an MRI to see what it is also .  She possibly has an auto immune disorder but are still check and doing testing . She has developed Small Fiber nephropathy through her entire body now and she is taking nerve pain medication as well as other medication to help with the symptoms and the pain . SFPN victims suffer from dizziness and loss of coordination. Patients lose muscle strength, and reflexes which may begin to fail. In its cruel end stages, PN can cause bowels or bladders to “let go,” stabbing or burning pains, and electrical sensations that course throughout the body. Gradually, someone with SFPN can lose feeling in their fingers and toes. If that numbness spreads to your arms and legs, you won’t feel pain if you step on a thumbtack or get a pebble in your shoe. But missing that tiny item can eventually result in a serious, non-healing wound. Her autonomic nervous system has also been effected as is a component of the peripheral nervous system that regulates involuntary physiologic processes including heart rate, blood pressure, respiration and digestion

She could not sweat or tolerate heat or cold she was not sleeping more than 2 hours a day for months. She has lost 70 pounds and her hair has been falling out . Her cancer screening for colon cancer came back with a positive result when she was in ICU and now she is scheduled for a colonoscopy next week. They also just found a mass in her left shoulder and she has to now go for another MRI to find out what it could be the the doctor believes it could be a tumor but she has an another apt this week with the specialist . She has been very depressed and is fighting back as best she can and thanks god every day for healing her as much as he has . Until now she has been mostly healthy and has never been one to go to the doctor other than the regular checkups. She worked Three jobs one helping grandparents and other relatives get temporary custody of their grandchildren or relatives to keep these kids out of the Foster care system and the other also teaching parenting classes for court ordered cases and one as a Mediator . She has dedicated her entire career to working for the community and giving back. She holds a Masters Degree and she even volunteers as a guardian ad litim in Pasco County and has for the last 12 years . I am asking for this fund raiser because her medical bills for this year alone have been over $500,000 and we do have insurance, but they only pay a portion of her total expenses and we are still responsible for 20% and we have a large deductable or out of pocket expense as well . Some of the procedures they want to try to help with are not covered by insurance such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and it is very costly $4500 for twenty sessions and they say it could take 40 to see a serious difference and she has to go every day for weeks straight so she wont be able to work during her treatment . Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) effectively heals infection by reducing swelling and increasing circulation. It does this through promoting revascularization – the formation of new blood capillaries. Once blood flow to the infected area improves, nerve repair and regrowth can begin. New nerve fibers reverse PN and relieve its symptoms. In addition, studies show that hyperbaric oxygen stimulates the release of stem cells in the wound area that differentiate into new tissue and nerve cells.

We have depleted are savings this year as she has not been able to really work and thank God for  our Daughter Jessica who has helped with taking over for her mom at work and bringing some money in to the home . I know it is Christmas and times are hard for everyone, but they really believe that the oxygen therapy will help her and would like to start as soon as possible , and we just can't afford to pay for it. We also have thousands of dollars in unpaid medical bills, and she is still going for treatment for all her other conditions if you can help at all it will be appreciated.
