Please support me as I take an amazing journey. The Out of the Darkness Overnight is a 16-mile walk over the course of one night. Net proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), funding research, advocacy, survivor support, education, and awareness programs – both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.
3 of us will be representing Orange County, along with thousands of others, for this great cause. The organization does require $1000 minimum donation/walker. If you could be so kind to help sponsor myself as well as the others that will be attending, it would be much appreciated.
WHY I WALK: The education, community commitment and self-devotion in which I have vowed upon myself to make a difference arose from the loss of my older brother, Kevin Likeness, who at the early age of 19 took his own life on November 12th, 2000. Kevin was the kindest, gentlest, most generous child growing up. He always offered everything in his possession to make others happy; bringing a smile to others, brought a smile to him. I will continue my pledge to make a difference by continuing to education myself, educating others, creating awareness, seeking support, and most importantly, letting those who are suffering know we are willing, able and ready to help. There is no greater reward in this world, than saving a life.
