Update:
Oct.15 : Luna will be having surgery at Fairmont Veterinarian Hospital in Fairmont WV on Wed. Oct 22!!! Animal Dentistry did cancel her appt for the 20 on me yesterday because I didn't have the 5200 minimum Estimate fee! That's fine WV was my next choice! It is 3 hours away and she may have to stay overnight but I'm excited she's finally getting what she needs to get back on track.. I have knocked my goal down to 1500 just in case there an emergency. I am so thankful for everyone's support and sharing my story. Every donation has helped her get what she needs to no longer be in pain. The surgery is a 6 hour surgery and there is a 2 week recovery period. Luna will be on wet food and will have to relearn how to do her favorite things... She has been so ready to get back to her regular self.
Biopsy unfortunately came back positive for malignant epithelial tumor which means fortunately it will stay where it's at as long as it can be treated quickly. They cannot guarantee that it won't spread microscopically. They will have to remove the front of her jaw in order to remove the tumor. Please help me reach the goal I need in order for her to see the specialist who specializes in these surgeries. Her surgery is currently scheduled for Oct.20 at Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery in Leesburg VA.
Hello, my name is Ashley and my 9-year-old Australian Shepherd, Luna, has a mass that has grown inside her mouth. I originally had made an appointment for Luna to be seen in July for an evaluation. I had to take her to the ER this weekend because it started bleeding. The emergency vet put her to sleep to see if she could drain it. After a while, the vet brought me in to show me the mass was hard and that she needed a CT scan. She said I definitely need to get Luna seen sooner than January. I called a vet, and they gave me an estimate for a lower amount of $2,100.00 just for the CT scan. I'm kind of freaking out; I've had my dog since she was 8 weeks old. She's a very happy, energetic baby girl. She loves to play fetch, and even through this trauma, she's still trying to. I have been trying to have her stop because she makes it bleed when she picks up a ball. I have started to pick up her toys so she can't walk around with them. I have taken out a loan for as much as I could, but I really need help covering the rest. I am waiting on an actual estimate, but no one will give me one until I have the CT scan. Me, my husband, and 3 kids absolutely adore her and don't want anything bad to happen. She is a very calm, sweet, loving dog. She has been by my side through so many good times and bad. Please, please find it in your heart to help me with these costs.
