Maxim is an amazing photographer living in the Bow Valley. On Tuesday morning while backcountry camping in Assiniboine Park, he experienced a piercing pain in his stomach and knew something was wrong. Maxim made the 2km hike out to the lodge and insisted on getting an emergency helicopter- the doctors later told him had he not done this, he would be dead. Max suffered a perforated bowel caused by a stomach ulcer that ruptured overnight and was transported to Calgary for surgery. He is okay and will be making a full recovery but it will be awhile before he is released from hospital and able to get back to work and his photography workshops again.

Max is such a special character and such an amazing photographer known by many in the valley. It would be awesome if we could all help him out a little so he can get back to doing what he loves- taking photos. Max is one of the most dedicated and passionate photographers I have ever known, and it would be a shame if anything stopped him from getting back to his craft.
