Hi friends—
This isn’t the route I wanted to take; however at this point we’ve exhausted all financial options.
Xena started acting not like herself Monday morning (5/26), by Monday evening she had weird colored discharge and was becoming lethargic. Fast forward to Tuesday evening (5/27), we noticed she had bloody pus expelling from her Vulva— clear signs of a Pyometra in her Uterus.
She stayed in the same spot overnight, jumping down to drink water about 9:30 this morning; by 9:45, she had thrown up the water she drank.
We were able to scrounge up $1200 for a down payment at Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital in Martinsburg, right around the corner from our house. They have Xena now and are performing surgery on her in the morning for a complete hysterectomy.
The estimate for her treatment total is $2100-$2700, I applied for CareCredit and was denied. I am on a fixed income so this is truly a nightmare
If anyone can find it in their hearts to donate and help us come up with the remaining costs to bring our furbaby home after her surgery— I’d be forever grateful!
I’m horrible with finding the right words as I type this, my anxiety is through the roof and I can’t think straight. Our dogs become like our family, SHE’S ONLY 4
