Lisa's Fight

Lisa Leyva, 38 year old mother of two beautiful boys both under the age of 4 years old and wife of Joel Leyva was recently diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. This is a very aggressive breast cancer that will require intense treatment including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

Lisa will be undergoing her first surgery Tuesday, May 23rd with hopes to start chemotherapy 3-4 weeks after healing from her surgery. Lisa has had an amazing career in the construction industry for the past 9 years, although her company will continue to support her during this time Lisa and her family will be faced with unexpected medical bills, unexpected medical leave, and continued childcare expenses.

In addition to Lisa's career she has made our community a top priority by supporting local non-profits organizations, volunteering on numerous committees, and sitting on multiple boards. Lisa chaired the First Annual Par for the Cure Golf Tournament last year benefitting Lori's Fight and the American Cancer Society. Never in a million years did Lisa think as she planned that golf tournament for her friend that almost exactly a year later she would be walking in those same shoes. Lisa is  still very active with the American Cancer Society.

Lisa and Joel will need all of the help and support they can get during this difficult and unexpected time. Lisa has given so much to our community, it's time for us to support her!
