Running for grandad

Hello my name is Ellis and this is my grandad, unfortunately on the 1st of August of this year after a battle with cancer he passed away. My grandad was an amazing man who always supported me and wanted me to be successful. Over the last couple of years I spoke to my grandad multiple times about fitness and my love for it. But 2 specific areas of fitness being running and Hyrox of which I wanted to compete in.

This year I booked my first half marathon, he was very excited for me unfortunately I was unable to share my result with him as it was booked 2 weeks after he passed. Additionally I've always loved Hyrox and always spoke about it every time I saw grandad. I tried to get tickets multiple times this year however I was unsuccessful this was until the ballot in October for the Manchester Hyrox in 2025 which I secured my ticket for.

I think we can all agree with this but honestly f**k cancer. I decided that in his honour I wanted to play a part in getting to a day where cancer no longer has to be a worry of how long you have someone in your life. With that being said I have decided that starting December 22 I will be raising money for cancer research UK for a year taking part in multiple races including 10k, half marathons and Hyrox events.
