Hi, my name is Jessica Carney, I’m 19 years old and I’m a full time college student from Glasgow. I’ve been out as trans for a little over a year now, and in that time I’ve lived my life as authentically as I possibly can, under the comfort and safety of my own roof I have been able to embrace my new identity. It’s only recently I’ve managed to get my first appointment with a gender clinic, however it’s proven to be incredibly expensive as I am going private, but it was either break the bank or join a 200 year waiting list with NHS. I don’t normally like asking people for money, but I firmly believe that if you help one trans person you can help a lot, any sort of donations to someone’s fund shows a lot of support and love. It can be as low as £5 or as high as £50, either way it’s clear that heart is there. Im finally starting to see the next steps in my transition taking shape, but I need help to get there.
