Hello everyone,
As I'm sure many of you are aware, my brother John sadly passed away last June. We wanted to do something to remember him, so myself, Bruce, and Brendan (mine and John's father and uncle respectively) are doing a big walk of the Dorset coast path on March 5th. This will be 22 miles, from Weymouth to Lulworth Cove and back - which is pretty chunky when one takes cliff elevation into account. Doing this in March gives us enough time to whip ourselves into Roy of the Rovers shape, and also allows for a slightly greater amount of daylight than is available at the present.
We're doing this in order to raise money for a memorial bench to be at the Stratford Road rec in Alcester - this has already been ordered and looks pretty snazzy. John loved the town, and it's the ideal space to remember him and have a beer.
Any contribution to this is massively appreciated, and I'll try and chart some of the progress of the hike (both training and the actual event) for your entertainment.
Thanks very much everyone,
Pete
