Please Help Me Save My Family Home After Losing My Mom

Hi, my name is Natalie, and I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this. But after losing my mom recently, I’m now facing the heartbreaking possibility of also losing the only home I’ve ever known.

Before she passed, my mom filed for bankruptcy in an effort to manage the property taxes on our family home. Unfortunately, some of the payments were late, and the case is now being dismissed. I’ve been trying to take on the responsibility myself — I’ve applied for a loan, but I was denied because I don’t have an established credit history. I’m still trying to explore other options, but time is running out.

I’ve also been working to transfer the title of the house into my name, but the legal process is expensive — one lawyer I spoke to quoted me $5,000 just to help with that.

This home means everything to me. It’s not just a place to live — it’s where my memories with my mom live. Every room, every corner holds a piece of her. Losing this house would feel like losing her all over again.

That’s why I’m asking for help. I’m trying to raise $21,000 to:

    •    Pay the outstanding property taxes to stop the foreclosure

    •    Cover the legal costs of transferring the title

    •    Keep the home my grandmother and mom worked so hard for in our family
