Making Miracles

After two and a half very long years, a particularly grueling battle for sister to be with us and more than twenty hospitalizations; our family is finally whole again. Unfortunately now we need your help keeping it that way. The smaller one has had a rough road to travel being born with what is called a life-limiting condition, *Hydranencephaly. We were told not to expect to ever meet our Prince Charming and despite all the odds being against him he not only survived but thrived. Due to his condition there are many obstacles and he is very fragile, after multiple brain surgeries we still have no better prognosis or life expectancy. We live every day with the knowledge that these small colds and flus for everybody else are a serious threat to us. Our little guy is in and out of the hospital frequently with the last couple of admissions being very difficult especially on big sis. Which is where the custody battle came into play, only recently was my daughter FINALLY able to return home after an extremely traumatic ordeal. Sister is starting a new school in the city we just moved to, however we are currently based out of Dayton Children's so that we may all stay together. With my son's limitations, it is imperative that I stay with him; as he is 100% dependent on myself, non-verbal and non ambulatory. Also, I'm sure you can imagine, we are trying harder than ever to keep our little family together as much as possible since we are always on borrowed time. As a single stay-at-home mother on a fixed income this is creating quite the dilemma and we will not be able to continue this way much longer. We are spending upwards of $60 a day in transportation as I am not able to drive. These additional expenses that we've incurred on top of our bills are just too much to manage on the modest income we're allotted. We've only made it this far with the help and blessings of our community that has supported us in similar past instances. I wish I didn't have to ask for help, but unfortunately each time this occurs we fall further and further behind.
