Puerto Rico Men's Lacrosse

Hello everyone! My name is Tomas Rodriguez and I currently reside in San Diego, California, where I live with my former college teammate Blake, and my pup Mako! I grew up in Yorktown Heights, New York. This is where I developed a love and passion for both playing/coaching the sport of Lacrosse. I went on to do a Post Graduate year at Trinity-Pawling before attending the University of Maryland Baltimore County for two years before transferring and finishing my collegiate career at Pace University. Once I graduated from Pace, I moved out to San Diego and started coaching for Mad Dog Lacrosse. Fast forward to today, I am currently the Director for Mad Dog San Diego Boys and the Head coach for the Boys Santa Fe Christian Varsity Lacrosse Team.

I had the honor of representing the Puerto Rico Men's National Team in the 2018 World Lacrosse Games in Israel. My trip to Israel was one of the most fantastic experiences I have ever had and am forever grateful for the opportunity.

I recently tried out for the 2023 Puerto Rico National team ahead of this summer's World Lacrosse games in our backyard (San Diego) and was informed last week that I made the 23-man roster! I am beyond blessed to receive this opportunity and can't wait to get back out there with the team!

The total cost for one player to compete for team Puerto Rico in the World Lacrosse games is $1850. While I will be covering my fee for the event, the majority of my teammates are still in college, which, from experience, $1850 in college is a whole lot of money to be able to put forward. I want to do everything I can to help my teammates make the trip and help put the PR National team in the best possible position to succeed!

I will be hosting an open clinic for the 2027-2032 age groups on 2/12 at The Valley Middle School to help raise money for the team! There will be no fee for the clinic, and donating is completely optional. Below are all the details!
