EDIT::: I raised the goal amount to match her out of pocket expenses ❤️❤️
Hi, my name is Ashley and I'm trying to help raise the money needed to help with Mellissa's medical expenses. She is a extremely loving mom of three beautiful boys. She works at woodland springs hospital helping adolescents struggling with addiction and mental health everyday, and she is constantly helping anyone she possibly can in whatever way she can. Her faith in God is inspirational and her resilience and dedication to her children and to her recovery is admirable. Unfortunately, Her cancer has progressed and surgery is needed. Here's a brief description of her story and her journey, from her point of view in regards to her health:
"I had Thyroid surgery in 2017 which came back that I had papillary carcinoma following the biopsy.
I was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells in my cervix in late 2016. At which point I was told I needed a full hysterectomy. At the beginning of 2017 that procedure was scheduled. The day of the surgery a pregnancy test was given and I was informed I was pregnant, which put a complete halt to that surgery. This all the while my husband was fighting glioblastoma and was in treatment doing chemo and radiation. I had my son had the surgery for my thyroid and was recovering while taking care of my newborn and my other boys. My husband and children and I spent that time just focused on spending as much time as we could with Michael. He was diagnosed terminal and we just wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. My health issues were put on the back burner and when my youngest son was 9 months old he passed away. Followed by the passing of my cousin and 2 closest person in my life! I went into a deep depression due to grieving the loss of two of the most important people to me which led me to making a lot of horrible life choices. I spent 2 years in the worst addiction of my life. It wasn't till 2021 when I decided to get sober that I started to focus again on my health. After a year of sobriety I started seeing doctors again. Unfortunately all those things I failed to take care of progressed. I have now been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer and am finally headed for surgery on the 10th of May. I will be out of work for 6 weeks provided that it has not spread any further and with faith that this will be removed in full once this surgery is completed!"
Our pride and egos have made Mellissa and I very hesitant in creating this fundraiser for her, and going public with her health problems is hard as well. It has been brought to our attention that there are alot of people who love and care for Mellissa and her boys and have been looking for a way to be able to help her, so here we are. Any donations are welcome. We thank you in advance for everyone's Love, support and Prayers!!
