This fundraiser is for my co-worker and friend, Amber. Amber was diagnosed with a rare phenomenon back in August, Nutcracker Syndrome. Nutcracker syndrome is the compression of your left renal (kidney) vein, usually between your abdominal aorta and superior mesenteric artery. This pressure on your vein interferes with blood flowing back to your heart.

On August 21st, Amber had renal vein transposition surgery. This surgical procedure involved repositioning the left renal vein to unblock the compression. 30 minutes after her surgery, her artery ruptured and she found herself undergoing a life-threatening emergency surgery which included 5 blood transfusions. She would then spend the next week on life support, followed by 3 days of being intubated.

For the year leading up to Amber’s surgery, her dear mom has been battling Stage 4 Lung Cancer in MS. Her mom paused her chemo treatments to come be with Amber for the surgery, as well as her recovery. Upon her mom returning to home health in MS to continue her chemo, her mom became very ill. On September 19th, Amber received a call from her mom’s doctor that she was admitted and in critical condition. Amber immediately went to MS to be with her mom.

With all the medical bills, traveling between states, and being out of work, Amber and her family could really use your help. Amber also has a 15-year-old son whom she loves dearly and is grateful for his friend’s family that has allowed him to stay with them through everything that has been going on.

Amber is one of the sweetest and kindest people. She would do anything for anyone, and I pray people can step up and do the same for her. No amount is too small, and prayers are always appreciated.
