Help Our Family Save Our Home

Hello,

We’re a family of five, including two amazing children with disabilities, and we’re reaching out in a time of urgent need. Our home — the place where we feel safe and supported — is at serious risk of foreclosure, and we need help to save it.

Why We Need Help

Earlier this year, we discovered major issues with our roof. We hired contractors to fix it previously but they did the job poorly, and it now needs to be completely replaced. Because of the damage and lack of proper repairs, our homeowners insurance policy was not renewed. Our mortgage company had to put their own insurance on the house, which caused our monthly payment to more than double.

We have done everything we can to fix this — we’ve applied for loans, even with a cosigner, but have been denied each time. Without being able to fix the roof, we cannot lower our payment, and now we are on the brink of foreclosure. We have until August 8th before the foreclosure process begins.

About Our Family

We are a hardworking, loving family. My husband works full-time despite living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that he shares with our two children. I (mom) am unable to work due to serious health conditions, including disabling migraines and fainting spells. I’ve tried to apply for disability benefits but am currently just two work credits short — though that may update based on last year’s work record.

Because of my health and the needs of our children, I’m home full-time as their primary caregiver. Our situation makes it incredibly difficult to generate extra income or save for emergencies like this.

How the Funds Will Be Used

We’re asking for help to:

• Repair the roof so we can reinstate affordable insurance

• Catch up on mortgage payments and stop the foreclosure

• Cover emergency costs related to possible relocation (if it comes to that), such as deposits for housing and utilities

Any help — whether it’s $5 or simply sharing our story — would mean the world to us. We are doing everything we can to keep our home, but at this point, we can’t do it alone.
