Ali's fund

As many of you know, my daughter Alison Mowen has had a sudden onset of unexplained neurological problems that no one has yet been able to diagnosis.  My son in law Dan, who has been so supportive, wrote the following on facebook  and it pretty much sums up what is happening.

"She still can’t speak, continues having the tremors in her brain and loss of vision as well as very limited strength on the left side of her body. We have gone for several MRI’s, CT scan, blood work, and EEG and they still don’t know. We have seen several neurologist’s and they are still trying to figure out why a healthy woman with no medical problems nor history would rapidly start having all sorts of medical problems.

We are now doing a 96 hour EEG at home Instead of the hospital “thank god” and are awaiting the latest round of MRI results. More blood work and a spinal tap later on this week. We are also going to the Mayo Clinic for some additional blood work. Most of this our insurance only covers a part of, some of the tests they won’t cover at all. Sometimes I wonder what they really do cover."

As the holiday season approaches, and the bills start coming in, it is becoming clear that we need assistance from family and friends. Our hope is that we can raise enough monies thru this that it takes some of the extra stress off Alison. She is aware of all that is going on and the amount of tests she still much endure. 

Some of their friends that live close by have bought food cards to assist with groceries which  has certainly helped, having 5 kids to feed. So I would ask that that, as you can, would continue.
