Towards the end of December in 2022 we found out that my dad has stage 4 lung cancer which has spread throughout his body. He has been traveling to the University of Michigan in ann arbor since January. It is three hours away from our home and he has chemo plus radiation four times a week with one week off a month. It’s to much on him to keep going back home after every visit. He needs help with the outrageous gas prices and also some help to stay in a hotel for four days. He is unable to work and his disability doesn’t kick in until August. He will have no income for four months while waiting for his disability. He is a great dad that has worked his whole life to take care of his family. One place he always wanted to visit has been the grand canyon. We're also trying to reach the goal to get him there for a family vacation. He has been struggling throughout this process but to not have any money coming in is to much to take. His oncologist said that he could get him a year or longer if he does radiation and chemo with some quality of life. I know times are hard at this point in society but any little bit helps our family throughout this process. This makes our life just a little bit easier.
