Bring Orion Home

Orion, formerly Fox is a 15 year old TB cross. He came to us in March of 2021. Orion had severe anxiety, untreated ulcers and needed some extra snacks. He had a puppy dog personality that made everyone fall in love with him.

while he proved not to be the horse for me, we decided that he had been through enough in his life that he still deserved his forever home no matter what.

after months of love and patience Brianna was able to help him overcome his fears and he proved us all wrong. He turned out to be an amazing riding partner with so much potential.

within the last 72 hours he experienced a puncture wound to his front left knee. The pinhole sized puncture went unnoticed until it was too late. The infection spread to his joint and is septic.

we were faced with the choice of Tufts or the dreaded final gift. It was a long discussion because financially, tufts was not in the cards, until a miracle worker stepped up to help us at least get him there and get his treatment started.

he will need an orthoscopic surgery fairly quickly in order to recover to at least remain comfortable and live out the rest of the life he deserves. There is a very positive prognosis of returning to work as well.
